Literary works especially poetry is an appropriate way of speaking about everything around us. Since literary works uncover human life, they cannot be ignored by research in the political and social domain. In this regard, the present research aims at finding out the ideologies of positive-self representation and negative-other representation in the discourses of the Iranian well-known poet, Moini Kermanshahi ‘God’s patience’ poem, based on Van Dijk’s (2004) frameworks of Politics, Ideology, and Discourse. Findings indicate that Moni Kermanshahi skillfully used negative other representation and positive self-representation to depict the social injustice of his time. Using the power of poetry, the author refers to ‘impatience’ as a negative human trait to show his weakness in controlling social injustice and more importantly to magnify the glory of God.
