چکیده مقاله
Leaders have always played a pivotal role as harmonizers of human movements throughout history. Fundamentally, no movement, change, or transformation is possible without an appropriate leader. This complex and multifaceted concept has consistently attracted the attention of numerous researchers. Among the modern concepts in the field of leadership is digital leadership. Digital leadership emerged with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the widespread wave of digital transformation in organizations worldwide, leading to research on digital leadership and its crucial role in the success of organizational digital transformation. However, the research conducted in the field of digital leadership is scattered, and this concept has not been sufficiently explored by researchers, leaving many unknown aspects. Among the unknown aspects of digital leadership are the definition, competencies, and roles of a digital leader and how it differs from other leadership styles. Therefore, in this study, we aim to conduct a qualitative meta-synthesis of the most recent and credible academic and organizational research conducted in this field from 2020 till present, combining and synthesizing definitions, roles, and competencies to provide a comprehensive definition of digital leadership and present a model of the competencies and roles of a digital leader. Ultimately, a comprehensive definition encompassing all aspects of a digital leader will be provided. Additionally, the final model will present 7 key competencies along with the components of each competency and 12 key roles along with the components of each role.
