Researchers argue that the growing literature on meaning of work and related constructs is leading to a confusing convergence of theoretical perspectives. Studies are conducted in independent and sometimes isolated domains, and on the empirical side, a number of overlapping constructs have been introduced, followed by numerous scales and surveys. In order to gain a clear insight on the topic, studies need to address potential interrelations between different perspectives and constructs embracing meaning of work. To take a first step, this study compares and contrasts these constructs and their dimensions in a correlational setting.
