In this paper using governing equations of saturated porous media and using Newmark direct integration method a solution of wave propagation problem in saturated soils ispresented. Results of this study can be used for analysis of pressure wave propagation through saturated soils duringearthquake. In order to study effect of permeability on seismicresponse of saturated soil, response of deposits with different permeability coefficients is computed. Results show that adecrease in permeability has a damping effect on acceleration, whereas, amplifies the excessive pore pressure.
